We thought it would be interesting to create some original content to sharpen our skills and bring awareness to social issues we care about. So, the Make it BIEN micro-series was born. The first in the series is called TenT.
Make it BIEN – An Original Content Series
For the first time since 2010, homelessness is rising in America. Most people blame the booming economy. Why? As rents soar and wages remain stagnant, more and more people can’t afford a place to live. The idea for TenT is to compare and contrast something that people want to do (recreational camping) with something that some people are forced to do (living in an urban tent city).
Process & Look Development
Working with Louis Wes on illustrations, we went back and forth a bit to come up with the final design. It was important that we kept things stylized and abstract, and Louis hit that style right on the head. We added flourishes like the leaves turning into trash, and details like the city mimicking the layout of the mountains. We wanted something dark and moody to reflect the realities and similarities of living in a tent on a city street.

What is mother nature gonna do when her cap melts away? Please help us raise awareness by sharing “Polar Ice Cap” with your network.
“The Arctic is warming at a rate of almost twice the global average. Without urgent action to cut greenhouse gas emissions, the world will continue to feel the effects of a warming Arctic: rising sea levels, changes in climate and precipitation patterns, increasing severe weather events, and loss of fish stocks, birds and marine mammals.” — World Wildlife Fund
